It is my absolute privilege to welcome you to Hinuera School, a place where our tamariki learn and flourish in the heart of Waikato’s rolling farmland. Since 1892 we have served our community with pride, and today that legacy is alive in every classroom, playground and smiling face you’ll meet on our grounds.
Our vision, “Te tipu me tō akona – Learning and Growing,” guides each decision we make. With small class sizes (Years 0–6) our highly capable teachers know every child by name, strength and next learning step. They craft structured, responsive programmes that challenge and support ākonga to reach their personal best! Our Hinni Kids thrive in highly engaging curriculum opportunities both in and out of the classroom!

You’ll hear them in the conversations between staff and students, and you’ll feel them in the genuine partnership we share with whānau. We have strong relationships with our community and are well supported by a proactive PTA who work tirelessly to provide enriched opportunities that make lifelong memories!
Our unique rural setting offers room to run, think and explore. Two adventure playgrounds, a swimming pool, a turfed court and wide green spaces sit alongside modern, refurbished classrooms equipped for today’s learners. Yet it is our culture – of relational trust, high expectations and shared laughter – that truly sets Hinuera apart.
